OUR TRAVELS CONTINUE

| We entered Canada at the border crossing near Newport, Vermont (the same crossing that Ken's great grandfather passed through many times during the early 1900's.). |
| The countryside near St. Leonard on the way to Quebec City. | ![]() |

Catholic Church in St. Leonard. |
| We took a very short side trip through St. Gregoire, a town where Ken's Great Grandfather (on his mothers side) and many of his siblings and spouses were born. Ken's great grandmother (on his fathers side) was also born in this village. |

| Then it was off to Quebec City. With a mix of old and new buildings there is much to see. |

| The oldest section, sitting on the edge of the St. Lawrence Seaway was our favorite. It reminds one of a little French Village with its cobblestone streets, quaint shops & cafes. |

Much of Ken's ancestry on both sides of his family settled in
and around Quebec City as early as the mid 1600's. Many of these descendants did not arrive into the U. S. until the mid 1800's to the early 1900's. |
Standing high on a bluff overlooking the St. Lawrence River is the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Not merely a hotel located in the heart of Old Québec - it is said to be the heart of Old Québec. |

| After living Quebec we crossed back into the United States near Moose River Maine, traveling south on Hwy 201 following the Kennebec River out of West Fork. | ![]() |

Along the way we saw this spot - the point at which Colonel Benedict Arnold with his soldiers left the Kennebec River October 1777 and marched from the West shore in a North Westerly direction to Dead River on their way to Quebec. |
| Our last destination was a short side trip to St. Andrews, New Brunswick a charming little seaport village on Passamaquoddy Bay. |

| The Algonquin, a renowned hotel built 1889. Around the turn of the 20th century St. Andrew's-by-the-Sea flourished as Canada's first sea side resort town. |
