Maine has it all from mountains to beaches. |
First on the agenda was Acadia National Park. We found the areas of Bar Harbor, Seal Cove, Seal Harbor & other communities around the park to be just as beautiful. We toured the coastline extensively with its many sheltered coves and seaport towns. (Twice! - once in fog and once in sunshine) |

| The Penobscot Narrows Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Penobscot River near Bucksport, Maine. It replaced the Waldo-Hancock Bridge, built in 1931 (seen on the right in the first picture). The new bridge is 2,120 feet long. It is one of two bridges in the U.S. constructed recently to utilize a cradle system that carries the strands within the stays from bridge deck to bridge deck, as a continuous element, eliminating anchorages in the pylons. Truly a work of art. |

Owls Head Light, just south of Rockland, offers outstanding views of Penobscot Bay and a short hike to stretch your legs. |

Continuing south on the coast highway the scenery remains beautiful. |

In Kennebunkport we were able to spot President Bush's vacation compound. |
